David Nairn, Theatre Orangeville provided a pre-recorded version of the National Anthem which was played. 

The Mayor acknowledged the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe people including the Ojibway, Potawatomi and Odawa of the Three Fires Confederacy.

Mayor Brown advised the gallery and viewing audience with respect to the public nature of Council Meetings and that it is webcast.

Jeanne-Marie Palermino outlined her concerns relating to the increased amount of development in the town. 

Matthew Aubie, Aubs & Mugg Inc. presented the new Orangeville Tourism Brand and associated guidelines to Council.

    Whereas the Town recently established an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee to advise Council on matters and issues related to equity, diversity and inclusion;
    And Whereas the Committee recommends the development of a Community Diversity and Inclusion Strategy to build a more inclusive community;
    Now therefore be it resolved that $10,000 be included as a 2022 Capital Budget Item for the completion of a Community Diversity and Inclusion Strategy by the Town’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Mayor Brown advised that he will be making a motion at the November 22, 2021 Council Meeting regarding a Remembrance Day and Veterans Crosswalk.

Mayor Brown provided a thank you on behalf of Council to Doug Jones, who has just left the position of General Manager, Infrastructure Services at the Town and welcomed Gary Kocialek as Interim General Manager, Infrastructure Services. 

Councillor Sherwood provided a reminder of the upcoming Santa Claus parade, Saturday, November 13, 2021.  

Mayor Brown extended  wishes for a speedy recovery to Deputy Mayor Macintosh and indicated that the Deputy Mayor is stepping away from Council for 3 months and is donating his salary to the Orangeville Food Bank during his 3 months absence.
