The event is currently scheduled to run with judging and gardening contest which is proposed to occur in June/July.  Volunteers will be required and Matthew Smith has agreed to take the lead for the garden competition and Miranda O'Connor and Val Nilsson have volunteered to judge for the CiB.  Matthew Smith and Grant Peters to schedule a meeting with Ray Osmond and Kevin Barry to discuss the program and whether we compete at national level or wait another year.  Need to discuss with communications regarding contest parameters and dates.  Grant Peters to try to get some volunteers and the Town may be able to reach out to put out the word about the contest.

Val Nilsson, Martina Rowley and Jeff Lemon have met twice with an initiative to increase awareness and participation and promote a cycling friendly community.   Two campaigns suggested - ride your bike to school and ride your bike to farmer's market (potential to align with ride your bike to work day) to be held in the spring and fall.  Andrew Seagram will assist in reaching out to principals to see if this is suitable for volunteer hours for high school students to assist.  Promotion of events (which will include giveaways) through the Town and the Town's media with post event promotion to show success of the events.

No updates on this sub-committee.  A lead for the Community Gardens is needed, and Grant Peters to contact communications to send out promotional information to see if  anyone would be interested in taking the lead.

Discuss a schedule for Earth Week at March 1, 2022 meeting.  Looking at April 20 for bike relay and tree planting on April 23.

Potential new development proposed at corner of Broadway and Sherbourne.  Any direction this committee wants to give Council on an environmental realm can be provided to Council.

Matthew Smith inquired as to whether the Seed Library will be happening again.  Library Board will be meeting at the end of February and Grant Peters will reach out to Darla Fraser to see if there will be another seed library.  Promoting the seed library should start next month.

Jeff Lemon asked if the CVC had provided any information on the trail crossing Broadway.  Kevin Barry advised that information was just received from CVC on this issue.
