Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Chair, Mayor Brown at 7:02 p.m.

Presentations

4.1

Emily Duncan, University of Guelph

The committee welcomed Ms. Emily Duncan, Ph D candidate from the Research Institute who presented an overview of the final draft of the Needs Assessment.  The report addresses the issues, gaps, challenges, and potential future steps.

Items for Discussion and Reports

5.1

University of Guelph Needs Assessment Final Draft

The committee members have received the 35 page final draft report via email and are requested to provide comments to Administrator, Andrea Shaw by Friday, December 3 for compilation.  The University of Guelph will update the report with the feedback and comments and provide a final internal version for the December 15 committee meeting where in the committee will discuss recommendations to include in the report to council.

7.1

Housing Pods Concept

The committee discussed the potential concept of small housing pods.  Each pod costs approximately $16,000 to $18,000.  With the properly zoned location this could be a potential recommendation to assist in housing needs.
