Mayor's Updates
 

The Mayor provided an update to the committee on the Notice of Motion and the reasoning for the revisions prior to Council.  Mr. Narine from Choices Shelter is working with the Dufferin County to apply for sustainable funding.  County has not yet responded to Orangeville's motion but a report will eventually be forthwith. 

The Mayor advised the members of recent discussion with Family Transition Place and SHIP for a men's program. 

Lions Club has organized radio bingo to commence early December and Mayor Brown will request that a portion of the funds raised goes towards a men's shelter program.

U of G Needs Assessment Update
 

The University of Guelph advised that a total of 63 community survey's submitted.  The service provider survey had 32 responses.  University of Guelph will provide the draft analysis section set to be completed for October 29 as per their workplan.   The full draft should be submitted to us between November 3 to 8.

Reach out to Clergy Members
 

The members discussed the importance of obtaining some short-term goals to assist the homeless men particularly with the winter months fast approaching. 

The committee will be reaching out to all of the Clergy members to find out programs that the churches may already have, discuss the possibility of "Inn out of the Cold" programs and to potentially arrange a meeting between some committee members and groups of clergy members.  The members created a task list and will regroup on Monday to present their status updates.
